Inspired by the rebuilding efforts of the New York Aquarium following the devastation from Superstorm Sandy, Theodora & Callum designed a limited edition scarf with proceeds directly benefiting the beloved institution’s rehabilitation. The hit from the storm was so severe that the Aquarium was forced to shut down for 7 long months. It has finally partially reopened – a testament to the hard work of its dedicated staff and supporters who spent tireless hours saving the lives of the thousands of aquatic animals who call the Aquarium home.
As a New York mom who visits the Aquarium with her son, Callum, every spring and summer, Theodora & Callum co-founder, Desiree Gruber, was compelled to help in a way that was meaningful to them both. Inspired by Callum’s favorite Zebra Fish in the Aquarium’s Conservation Hall, Desiree created this aquatic print and will donate proceeds directly to the relief effort. The aquarium is an educational and cultural landmark where thousands of school-age children have a place to learn and develop their appreciation for oceans around the world. This dedication to the cause is one small step in the process of recovery for The New York Aquarium, but every bit counts.
